Early Intervention General Supervision
As the Lead Agency for Massachusetts, the Early Intervention (EI) Division within the Department of Public Health is responsible for overseeing and supervising all early intervention service (EIS) programs and providers to ensure the state complies with the requirements of IDEA Part C.
Through these responsibilities, the Early Intervention Division’s general supervision system is required to monitor and enforce the implementation of IDEA by EIS programs and providers for compliance, with an emphasis on results and outcomes for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families. The general supervision system’s monitoring activities include improving educational results and functional outcomes for all infants and toddlers with disabilities and ensuring that early intervention service programs meet the program requirements of IDEA Part C.
