Potential reasons to file a complaint
You may file a complaint against a LSP if you believe that they:
-
Violated any of the LSP Board’s Rules of professional Conduct
-
Engaged in any misconduct described in 309 CMR 7.01
-
Knowingly made a false or inaccurate statement in any opinion or report submitted to MassDEP
-
Complaints may also be filed against non-LSPs who act as, or hold themselves out to be LSPs
Types of complaints subject to dismissal
The LSP Board does not have jurisdiction over the following:
-
The reasonableness of fees charged by a LSP. If your complaint is a fee dispute then you may file your claim with an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider
-
General dissatisfaction with the LSP
-
The Board cannot take disciplinary action unless the LSP violated one or more of the LSP Board’s regulations
