The Legacy Lidar Terrain Data Index serves as a reference for downloading the older Lidar Terrain Data layers, which are organized into multiple project areas. The data here has been superseded by better quality data.

The Legacy Lidar Terrain Data Index serves as a reference for downloading the Legacy Lidar Terrain Data layers, which are organized into multiple project areas. This index dataset was created by MassGIS by merging shapefiles provided by each vendor as part of its complete Lidar data delivery. MassGIS added the fields TILENAME (identifies the DEM and LAS files), AREA_NAME (the project area to which it belongs), URL (Web link to download digital elevation model (DEM) images), and ARCHIVED ('NO' = the most current data; 'YES' = older areas superseded by more current data). These tiles have been assigned a YES value because newer and better quality data were produced whose index can be found here. Note that tile sizes differ among the project areas, and some project areas overlap.

Maintenance

MassGIS maintains this layer and will update it should future lidar data be acquired that supersedes some of the newer lidar data.
