MassHealth Community Support Program

Community Support Program (CSP) services are behavioral health services provided by community-based mobile paraprofessionals to MassHealth members.

CSP services support member empowerment, recovery, and wellness and increase a member’s independence, allowing them to manage their own behavioral health and medical services. Services vary over time in response to the member’s ability to use their strengths and coping skills to achieve these goals independently.

Eligibility

CSP is available to any eligible MassHealth member who is enrolled in any managed care plan, as well as those who are in Fee-for-Service. For more information about eligibility requirements, read the Guidelines for Medical Necessity Determination for the Community Support Program and the CSP Program Regulation.

Members may refer themselves or may be referred by social service provider agencies and health care agencies. Medical necessity can be verified by diagnosis or by the member’s signed statement that they meet the medical necessity criteria. Services may continue until the provider determines that the services are no longer medically necessary.
