About the project
The MassHire Department of Career Services (MDCS) supports jobseekers and employers through a variety of services available online and at Career Centers located throughout Massachusetts. The MassHire Innovation Project will improve the technology and processes that enable this work, while helping jobseekers get back to work faster and connecting employers to the skilled talent they need. Across the MassHire system, this modernization project will also reduce the administrative burden for staff, and in turn, strengthen customer experience.
Outcomes will focus on people, processes, and technology to deliver real change for jobseekers and employers, including:
- A new online talent front door, where jobseekers can explore career services, training, and employment opportunities—promoting equity and contributing to a thriving workforce for the Commonwealth.
- Improved relationships with employers, leveraging data and analytics to better understand their needs and link them with jobseekers.
- A modernized system, positioning the Commonwealth to be more adaptable, innovative, data-informed, and better aligned to the needs of both jobseekers and employers.
- A human-centered workforce system that reduces manual processes, enhances employee experience, and simplifies jobs, making it easier for staff to focus on what truly matters: supporting the people of the Commonwealth.
- A more aligned organization that prioritizes a shared culture of collaboration and communication across Career Center locations.
About MDCS
MDCS Career Centers offer online and in-person job placement and recruiting services at more than 25 locations across Massachusetts, including:
- Helping jobseekers find jobs that match their skills and experience
- Providing jobseekers with career development support, including networking, interviewing, and job training support
- Hosting events such as career fairs with employers, workshops, and job training seminars to connect jobseekers and employers in local communities
- Helping employers find the right candidates for open jobs and upskill their teams
MDCS services are available at no cost to jobseekers, regardless of their career goals or background.
