The Board of Registration in Dentistry oversees the practice and licensure of dentists in Massachusetts. The board is responsible for licensing dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants for practice in the Commonwealth. This includes professionals who have licenses outside of the state and want to practice in Massachusetts. The board also issues limited and faculty dental licenses and facility and practitioner permits for anesthesia administration. The board establishes rules, regulations, and policies that are used to monitor these professions. Any complaints against licensed dental professionals are investigated by the board.
