Nursing Home Family Resource Line

The Nursing Home Family Resource Line at 617-660-5399 is a dedicated phone line to connect family members of nursing home and rest home residents with the information and resources they need. This phone line provides one central contact for families and community members who have questions about the nursing home or rest home care their loved one is receiving during the COVID-19 outbreak.  

The Nursing Home Family Resource Line is staffed on Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Staff will field questions on a range of topics and coordinate across state agencies to help provide answers.

Nursing Home Mobile Testing Program

The Nursing Home Mobile Testing Program allows for safe, rapid on-site testing of residents of long-term care facilities like nursing homes and rest homes. The initiative is being completed as a partnership between the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Massachusetts National Guard and the testing being conducted by the BROAD institute.

Considerations for moving a loved one home

During the declared State of Emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, families may be considering whether their loved one should move from a Nursing Facility, Rest Home or Assisted Living Residence. Nursing Home Accountability and Supports

The Commonwealth has taken strong steps to support the safety of residents in nursing facilities during the COVID-19 public health emergency, and as part of a second round of funding of up to $130 million for two months for nursing homes that meet specific requirements and accountability measures, facilities are being regularly audited against a 28-point Infection Control Checklist.
