When will I get my final State SNAP Supplement Payment?
The State SNAP Supplement ended in April, but DTA had some leftover funding available. Because of this, DTA is issuing a one-time payment of the State SNAP Supplement to qualifying households at the end of July. The amount of money each household receives will be less than what they previously received.
It is safe to use SNAP benefits. SNAP does not impact immigration status.
Unused State SNAP Supplement benefits will remain on your EBT card.

Why did the State SNAP Supplement end?
The State SNAP Supplement was created because Massachusetts had funding to issue benefits to certain immigrants who were not eligible for federal SNAP benefits. The funding for the State SNAP Supplement has now ended. The last payments were made in April 2024.
Will the State SNAP Supplement come back?
There are no immediate plans to restart the State SNAP Supplement. If DTA gets additional funding for the State SNAP Supplement, DTA will contact you if you are eligible.
You should keep your EBT card in case State SNAP Supplement payments start again in the future.
I have unused benefits. Do they expire because State SNAP has ended?
Unused State SNAP benefits will remain on your EBT card. Benefits will expire if the EBT card is not used to purchase food for nine months. DTA will send you a notice warning you about your unused benefits before the benefits expire.
You can check your EBT card balance on DTAConnect.com, by using the DTA Connect mobile app, or by calling the number on the back of your EBT card.

What is the difference between the State SNAP Supplement and the federal SNAP program?
The State SNAP Supplement was a new type of food assistance that was signed into law by Governor Healey on December 4, 2023. It ended in April 2024.
It helped certain lawfully-present immigrants who were not eligible for federal SNAP benefits because of their immigration status.
