Constructed in 1930, Station C-6, SP Holden is strategically positioned in the heart of Massachusetts. Located on Route 122A, it provides quick access to a network of major highways including Routes 290, 190, 495, 140, 31, 2, and the Massachusetts Turnpike. SP Holden covers nearly 250 square miles, including seven towns and the City of Worcester. The patrol area also encompasses the Wachusett Watershed (DCR) and the Wachusett Mountain Reservation/Ski area in Princeton, offering a wide range of environments for oversight.
SP Holden is a crucial location for various operational and support units of the State Police. It is home to CHQ Headquarters, the Community Action Team, C Troop Mechanics, Radio Room, Troop Clerk, Troop Carpenter, and the C Troop Dispatchers, establishing it as a hub of activity and coordination within the region. Notably, SP Holden borders all C Troop barracks except for the Belchertown Barracks, highlighting its central role within the troop’s operations.
