SP Holden covers nearly 250 square miles, including seven towns and the City of Worcester. The patrol area also encompasses the Wachusett Watershed (DCR) and the Wachusett Mountain Reservation/Ski area in Princeton, offering a wide range of environments for oversight.

SP Holden is a crucial location for various operational and support units of the State Police. It is home to CHQ Headquarters, the Community Action Team, C Troop Mechanics, Radio Room, Troop Clerk, Troop Carpenter, and the C Troop Dispatchers, establishing it as a hub of activity and coordination within the region. Notably, SP Holden borders all C Troop barracks except for the Belchertown Barracks, highlighting its central role within the troop’s operations.
