Station C-5, SP Sturbridge was built in 1960 to replace the former Charlton Barracks and is located on Route 20 adjacent to Route 84. C-5 maintains three separate patrols. Our "West Patrol" includes the Towns of Brimfield, Holland, and Wales with part time police departments, where we provide most of the police services. The West patrol also includes the Towns of Palmer and Monson, along with the Brimfield State Forrest and the Monson State Hospital. The entire patrol area encompasses twelve towns from Palmer to Auburn along the Connecticut border. Primary Highways include Route 84, a major thoroughfare connecting New York and Boston and Route 395 running from the Connecticut line to Auburn.
