MassDOT's project goals include to:

  • Reduce crashes in the project area for all movements
  • Reduce recurring congestion within the interchange
  • Reduce queuing that currently extends from the interchange onto the main lines of I-90 and I-495
  • Reduce travel time through the interchange, especially for high-volume movements

This project is being implemented through a Design-Build Contract. Design for the project is now complete and construction is ongoing, with an expected completion date of Summer 2027.
