Bethesda, Maryland — Today, members of the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) Employment Services team presented at the National Council of State Agencies for the Blind (NCSAB) Spring 2025 Conference, sharing the agency’s innovative approach to supporting job seekers who are legally blind.

MCB was selected to present based on the agency’s successful Visions of Employment Webinars and Virtual Reverse Job Fairs - strategies recognized for producing strong employment outcomes and expanding access to competitive, integrated job opportunities for individuals who are legally blind.

Carol Cullins, Employment Services Supervisor, and Daniel Martin, Employment Services Specialist, led a session titled “Getting Job Seekers in Front of Employers – And Getting Them Hired!” Their presentation offered a detailed look at how MCB plans and delivers these events, highlighting best practices in employer engagement, job seeker preparation, marketing, logistics, and follow-up.

The session was well-received by a national audience of vocational rehabilitation professionals, many of whom expressed interest in adapting MCB’s approach for their own programs.

MCB is continuing to build on this work with the next Visions of Employment Webinar and Virtual Reverse Job Fair, planned for Fall 2025. More information will be shared in the coming months as the agency continues its commitment to helping individuals who are legally blind achieve their employment goals.
