The Division of Ecological Restoration (DER) has released two Requests for Responses (RFRs) for culvert replacement funding.

The Culvert Replacement Municipal Assistance (CRMA) Grant RFR is intended to support applicants in replacing aging culverts with better designed crossings that meet improved structural and environmental design standards and flood resiliency criteria. Only projects that intend to meet the goals of the Massachusetts Stream Crossing Standards are considered for funding. Massachusetts local government units, including municipalities, districts, commissions, regional governments, and tribal governments are eligible to apply. For more information, visit COMMBUYS.

The Designated Culvert Replacement Training Site Grant RFR is for existing designated Culvert Replacement Training Sites to continue culvert replacement work in Fiscal Year 2026. Only designated culvert replacement training site projects that have not finished construction are anticipated to be eligible. For more information, visit COMMBUYS.

If you have questions regarding these funding opportunities, the deadline to submit questions is April 18th at 4pm. All applications are due May 12th at 4pm.
