About us
The EEA Climate Team is the core climate action division within the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA). We work across EEA agencies and all secretariats to ensure decarbonization and resilience are embedded in Massachusetts' initiatives, policies, and public engagement—so that all residents are protected from climate impacts and are a part of building a Net Zero, climate-prepared future.
Specifically, we strive to:
- Achieve Net Zero emissions in 2050 by identifying and implementing actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across all sectors of the Commonwealth's economy
- Strengthen climate preparedness by enabling communities, environment, and infrastructure to successfully adapt to the impacts of climate change.
- Ensure climate equity by engaging and empowering populations that will be most affected by climate change in planning and implementation and increasing access to the benefits of the clean energy transition.
