Massachusetts State Police Locations

The Massachusetts State Police Academy is located on 780 acres in rural New Braintree. All State Police recruit training is based here. Recruits attend a twenty-five week, modified stress, live-in academy, consisting of over ninety different courses of instruction. In addition to recruit training, the Academy hosts in-service training, training courses, and the Student Trooper program.

Station A-1 is located on State Highway 125 near the intersection of State Highway 28 in Andover. The barracks primary patrol area is Interstate 93 and later included Interstate 495; a coverage totaling over 222 square miles within 12 cities and towns.

The SP Athol Barracks is located just above downtown Athol and patrols 15 cities and towns.

Station C-7, SP Belchertown, is located at the Winsor Dam on the Quabbin Reservoir in central Massachusetts.

Station H-4, SP Boston Barracks is located at a major intersection which links Boston with the western suburbs and many other major interstate highways.

SP Bourne is located at the base of the Bourne Bridge on the Cape side, as you enter Cape Cod.

Station H-5, SP Brighton Barracks, patrols mostly DCR and state roadways and parks along the Charles River in the Boston and Cambridge areas. It was formerly know as the Upper Basin District because it was located near the upper basin area of the Charles River.

The Brookfield Barracks is located in Central Massachusetts where Route 9 is the major east/west thoroughfare and prior to the construction of the Massachusetts Turnpike was the main artery between Boston and New York.
