Office of Energy Transformation (OET)

The Office of Energy Transformation’s (OET) mission is to accelerate the energy transformation, with a focus on gas-to-electric transition, electric grid readiness, and an affordable and just transition for workers, businesses, and communities.

Focus Areas

In consultation with the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA), EEA leadership, and others both within and outside the Healey-Driscoll Administration, OET has established three focus areas for its work aligned with its mission and that will result in tangible, demonstrable, and transformational change:

  • Transitioning away from reliance on the Everett Marine Terminal (EMT) LNG Facility
  • Decarbonizing how we meet peak electric demand
  • Establishing alternative mechanisms to finance the future grid transition
  • Creating opportunities for economic development within the state while still meeting our clean energy goals

Community Engagment

An essential piece of the clean energy transition is community outreach and engagement. The Office of Energy Transformation has planned public meetings throughout the state to ensure that the community is aware of the plans and actions the OET is undertaking, and to give the community a chance to voice their perspectives and ideas.
