The Attorney General’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office works to advance the AGO’s commitment to building an inclusive workplace that values employees and embraces diverse perspectives. Through education and training, recruitment and retention initiatives, external partnerships, and accountability efforts, DEI works with teams across the AGO to strengthen organizational practices and foster a culture of belonging. The Office also establishes and promotes meaningful connections through Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which bring colleagues together across a variety of roles and backgrounds. ERGs strengthen internal relationships and build a greater sense of community. Mentorship and other professional development opportunities are also important components of this work, enabling employees to build relationships, share knowledge, develop professionally, and grow across all roles and levels of the AGO.
The Office’s work extends beyond internal initiatives and programming. Through external partnerships, DEI builds connections with the communities we serve and creates opportunities for cross-sector collaboration. Supplier diversity efforts further expand opportunities for diverse and underrepresented businesses to engage with the AGO. Together, these focus areas support the broader mission of ensuring that the AGO’s work is informed by and responsive to the needs and experiences of communities and residents throughout Massachusetts.
