258 CMR 8.00 establishes and clarifies the requirements for licensure of social workers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; defines the scope of practice for each level of social work licensure; sets standards of practice and conduct for licensees; establishes standards relating to confidentiality of client information and maintenance of client records; prescribes continuing education requirements for renewal of licensure; and specifies standards and procedures for disciplinary action against licensees.
