Final Demonstration Proposal Submitted to CMS
MassHealth’s final proposal for a State Demonstration to Integrate Care for Dual Eligible Individuals was submitted to CMS on February 16, 2012. The final Demonstration Proposal and accompanying documents are posted below. In addition, CMS posted the proposal at www.cms.gov/Medicare-Medicaid-Coordination/Medicare-and-Medicaid-Coordination/Medicare-Medicaid-Coordination-Office/FinancialAlignmentInitiative/StateProposals.html on February 17.
CMS is seeking public comment through a 30-day notice period. During this time interested individuals or groups may submit comments to help inform CMS’ review of the proposal. To be assured consideration, please submit comments by 5 p.m. EST, March 19. You may submit comments on this proposal to MedicareMedicaidCoordination@cms.hhs.gov.

Draft Demonstration Proposal for Public Comment and Public Hearings
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS)/MassHealth is developing a new program to integrate Medicare and Medicaid for individuals ages 21-64 who are eligible for both programs (“dual eligibles”). Under a proposed Demonstration with the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), MassHealth and CMS will use combined Medicare and Medicaid funding to contract with integrated care organizations to provide integrated, comprehensive care, including MassHealth and Medicare benefits, plus diversionary behavioral health benefits and additional long term services and supports.
