Accessible canoeing

Adaptive canoeing programs offer equipment, instruction, adaptations, and staff support for canoeing in Massachusetts state parks.
Two green canoes are visible on the open water. Two other canoes are in the background and bright green trees hug the border of the lake.

Canoeing sessions usually last 1 hour 15 minutes. Pontoons and seats with head and side support are some popular adaptations that are available to our participants.

Canoeing participants must sign a release form and meet our essential eligibility criteria for paddling.

Our 2021 adaptive canoeing program schedule is shown below.

Two people are seated in a green canoe, one in the front and the other in the back. They are both smiling as they paddle back to shore.

Join All Out Adventures for canoeing around Upper Highland Lake. Participants will paddle together in a small pod with other kayaking and canoeing participants. There will be 1 hour 15 minute timeslots to allow for time to get set up and recreate on the water.

Cost: $8 per person. One guest of a program participant with a disability can attend at no charge.

Pre-registration is required. Due to anticipated high demand for this program, you may pre-register for a maximum of 4 dates. If you are interested in attending more than 4 programs, your name can be added to a waiting list and you will be invited to additional programs if space is available.
