Pedestrian Plan

The Pedestrian Transportation Plan will recommend policies, programs, and projects for MassDOT to guide decision making and capital investments, as well as develop guidance for municipalities to improve walkability in local communities.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that the Draft Massachusetts Pedestrian Transportation Plan is now available for public comment. You can review the plan and provide feedback by clicking the link below.

The public comment period for the draft Final Plan is open until October 17, 2018.

We will post all documents on this website, as well as opportunities for public input. The Massachusetts Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board (MABPAB), serves as the steering committee for this Plan. Its members represent the interests of the walking public, such as WalkBoston and Livable Streets Alliance.
