Stroke Services in Massachusetts

All hospitals with an emergency department and all satellite emergency facilities licensed by the Department of Public Health must provide acute stroke ready services, primary stroke services, or endovascular capable stroke services. These designations require specific stroke protocols for patient assessment and care and commitment to continuous education of the public about warning signs and symptoms of stroke.
