Overview

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) invites the public to a listening session to review the final draft recommendations for the Brimfield State Forest Trail Master Plan.

At this virtual public meeting, the project team will present the final draft recommendations for the state forest and provide an overview of how public input and information gathered throughout the planning process helped shape the plan. The Trail Master Plan focuses on promoting trail sustainability, enhancing recreational opportunities, and improving signage and circulation while protecting natural and cultural resources. The plan will also help guide future decisions about trail improvements, expansion, or closure and ensure that DCR considers environmental and cultural impacts, climate resiliency, and community needs when managing the trail system. Please check the DCR Trail System Planning project page for additional information about the project and meeting registration. We encourage anyone interested in the future of trails and recreation at Brimfield State Forest to attend and share their feedback.

The public will be invited to provide comments during the meeting, after the presentation. After the meeting, the presentation will be available for viewing on DCR’s Past events for DCR Public Meetings Information web page. DCR encourages the public to share additional feedback, with a deadline for receipt of comments by DCR of October 21th, 2026. Comments may be submitted via the DCR public comment portal. Please note that the content of comments you submit to DCR, along with your name, town, and zip code, will be posted on DCR's website. Additional contact information required when commenting, notably email address, will only be used for outreach on future updates on the subject project or property.
