Public Hearing Notice  Public Comment Period on 2026 Stretch Code Update

This is an opportunity for the public to comment in writing and verbally on the proposed changes to the Stretch & Specialized Codes. These modest updates were triggered in response to public comment on Guidelines for DES (District Energy Systems) that were received last year. Given the desire to make changes to address comment on District Energy Systems, we took the opportunity to clean up some errata and update the Codes with feedback received from stakeholders through 2025. 

There will be a virtual Public Hearing on June 16^th, 2-4 PM. The registration link on this event is for the public hearing.

Written comments will be accepted through 5 PM on June 24^th, and should be emailed to stretchcode@mass.gov with the words “Stretch Code Public Comment” in the subject line. Alternatively, comments can be submitted via mail to Becca Edson, Department of Energy Resources, 100 Cambridge Street, 9^th floor, Boston, MA 02114.
