You can ask for a multifactor authentication (MFA) reset for your MyMassGov account if you lose access to the device you used to set it up or get a new phone or phone number.

Steps to request an MFA reset

  1. Go to Contact information for help with MyMassGov.
  2. Search the table of personal and business applications and services to find the one you're using.
  3. Call that agency's support phone number, if one is listed, and ask for an MFA reset. If there is no phone number, use an available support method to make your request. 

Note: If you plan to travel out of the country and need to access your MyMassGov account, you may need to use an authenticator app. We recommend setting up both an authenticator app and SMS.
