What you need
- You must be a currently certified breath test operator.
- You will need register by completing the OIC Registration Form.
- You will need to provide an updated OIC Designation Form.
Please note this is a required training for newly designated OICs as well as recently reinstated OICs who haven't attended a training in the last three years.
Please submit all completed forms to the Office of Alcohol Testing.
Dress Code: Department Uniform or Business casual
All classes are held at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory in Maynard.

How to apply
You MUST register for this course via e-mail to the Office of Alcohol Testing.
- Fill-out the OIC Registration Form. E-mail the completed form to the Office of Alcohol Testing.

Officer In Charge (OIC): a breath test operator responsible for maintaining the breath test device and breath test documentation. The Officer in Charge is the keeper of the breath test records for the instrument(s) assigned to his or her individual department or barracks.
*We recommend that each department or barracks has two OICs.*
