If you receive a state park, forest, or recreation infraction ticket, you have 21 days to pay it. The fine is $50.

As an alternative to criminal proceedings, a park ranger may give you written notice to appear before a clerk-magistrate of the District Court or Boston Municipal Court (BMC) within 21 days and pay the fine.

If you don’t pay the fine, the clerk will notify the park ranger, who will file a criminal complaint application.
