How to renew

You may renew online by creating an account on our license management system at medboard.mass.gov, linking your account to your license, and viewing your active license.  You may renew only during the renewal period, and you will have received an email notification and subsequent reminder emails when you are able to renew.

Click on "Show details", then click on the "Start a Physician Full License - Renewal Application" link.  Click on "Start Application" to begin the process.

You will find detailed instructions to guide you through the renewal process. You will be able to review your physician profile, upload any required documents, and pay the renewal fee via Credit Card or ACH transfer.

Please see the Tutorial Videos below to assist you in linking your account to your license and submitting your renewal.

Although we encourage all applicants to renew online, you may request a paper application by calling the Board at 781-876-8230.

Please note that submitting a paper application may lead to SIGNIFICANT additional processing times for the review and approval of your renewal.
