Please note: a name change cannot be done online. An in-person visit to a Service Center is required to capture your new signature. Schedule an in-person appointment.

How to replace
When ordering your replacement Massachusetts ID card online, you will need to:
- Log in with a MyMassGov Personal account
- Pay any applicable fees

For people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing (in Massachusetts)
You will need your:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Driver's license, learner's permit, or Mass ID number
- Last 4 digits of your Social Security number

If your ID will expire in less than a year, you can renew your Massachusetts ID instead of replacing it.
You cannot cancel or return a duplicate ID after ordering it.
If you have not received your credential after 30 days, contact the RMV.
