If your Massachusetts ID (Mass ID) has been lost or stolen, you should replace it as soon as possible.
The RMV will mail your replacement Mass ID to your mailing address on record with 7-10 days.

  • ID number or last 4 digits of your Social Security Number
  • Payment

The RMV is not offering replacement IDs at RMV Service Centers at this time. However, if you are a AAA member, you can make a reservation to replace your driver’s license/ID at a AAA location. Visit aaa.com/appointments to schedule your visit.

If your ID will expire in less than a year, you can renew your Massachusetts ID instead of replacing it. 

You cannot cancel or return a duplicate ID after ordering it.
