You’ll need to create 2 accounts to be able to complete your trainings:
- Register with the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) to get a Professional Qualifications (PQ) number.

- Create a StrongStart account to access and complete training.
StrongStart is EEC's online professional development system for educators. You'll need an account to complete the required online and in-person training for your FCC license.

Complete your online training
You must complete the following StrongStart courses:
- Potential Provider Training (1.5 hours)
A 2-part course about the licensing rules, business considerations, and professional qualifications needed to apply for and operate an FCC program. This training is sometimes called “PPT 1” and “PPT 2."

EEC Essentials 2.0 (12 hours)
Learn the basics about health, safety, and child development.

Attend an in-person training
You must attend an in-person training at one of EEC's regional offices:
- Family Child Care Potential Educator Meeting (3 hours)
Review EEC regulations, the business side of child care, how to partner with families, and available educator resources. This training is sometimes called “PEM.”
