Crisis Intervention Resources

This page contains Crisis Intervention resources in Massachusetts. Individuals in a mental health crisis should call the emergency number listed on their health insurance card, go to a hospital emergency room or call 911. Some community mental health centers provide emergency crisis intervention services and many police departments are trained in crisis intervention. MassHealth members can access emergency mental health services through regional Emergency Service Providers.

Statewide Resources

Massachusetts Behavioral Health Helpline. The Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL) connects individuals and families to the full range of treatment services for mental health and substance use offered in Massachusetts, including outpatient, urgent, and immediate crisis care. Call for real-time support, initial clinical assessment, and connection to the right evaluation and treatment.

Community Behavioral Health Centers. Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) offer immediate help 24/7 in communities across Massachusetts.
