The Department of Public Health (DPH) contracted with six Medically Complex Care Consultation Programs (MC3) to consult with early intervention services programs who serve enrolled children with complex medical needs or multiple disabilities. The MC3s are located in the West, Central, Northeast, Southeast, Metro West, and Boston regions. EI service coordinators receive consultation, trainings, and toolkits to equip them with best practices for working with children with medically complex care needs through the MC3 program in their region.

If interested, families can follow a referral process to access an MC3 coordinator for child-specific consultation to the IFSP team and family support funds.MC3 consultation programs can provide EIS programs and families caring for children with complex medical needs with the following:

  • Resource information and referrals
  • Support accessing adaptive equipment and assistive technology
  • Respite funds when available
  • Needs assessments
  • Consultation for transition out of early intervention
