Exploring the Blackstone River Valley Recreational Hike Series

August 2026 Hikes

All programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Appropriate for ages 12 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear sturdy footwear. Dress for the weather. Bringing water is encouraged as it will not be available on-site. Bathrooms are available unless otherwise stated. Programming is subject to change or cancellation. Upton State Forest

Meet at the Hopkinton Road parking area (bit.ly/hopkroad). This hike is ~3 miles over a rugged forest and rocky surfaces with moderate inclines.

Tri-State Marker Loop, 2 – 4 p.m.

Douglas State Forest

Meet at the High Street Connector parking area (bit.ly/highstconnector). This hike is ~3.5 miles over rugged forest and compacted gravel surfaces with steep inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site.

Blackstone River Greenway

Meet at the Depot parking area (85 Canal Street, Blackstone). This hike is ~4 miles over a paved surface with no inclines.

Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park

Meet at the Blackstone Gorge parking area (bit.ly/blstgorge). This hike is ~1.5 miles over a rocky surface with steep inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site.
