Exploring the Blackstone River Valley Recreational Hike Series

November - December 2025 hikes

All programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Appropriate for ages 12 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear sturdy footwear. Dress for the weather. Bringing water is encouraged as it will not be available on-site. Bathrooms are available unless otherwise stated. Programming is subject to change.

Sunday, November 2

Plummer’s Landing Hike, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park 

Meet at the Plummer’s Corner parking area (bit.ly/plummerslanding). This hike is ~3.5 miles over rugged forest and loose gravel surfaces with steep inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site. 

Sunday, November 9

Mammoth Rock Loop, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Upton State Forest 

Meet at the CCC Camp parking area (205 Westboro Road, Upton). This hike is ~2.5 miles over a rugged forest surface with steep inclines. 

Sunday, November 16

Bad Luck Pond Loop, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Douglas State Forest

Meet at the Route 16 parking area (bit.ly/dougroute16). This hike is ~3.5 miles over a loose gravel surface with moderate inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site. 

Sunday, November 23

Viaduct Loop, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Blackstone River Greenway

Meet at the Depot Lot (85 Canal Street, Blackstone). This hike is ~2.5 miles over a paved surface with mild inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site.

Skull Rock Lock Hike, 1 – 3 p.m.

Blackstone River and Canal Heritage State Park 

Meet at the Skull Rock Lock parking lot 
(bit.ly/skullrocklock). This hike is ~2.5 miles over a rugged forest surface with mild inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site. 

Sunday, December 7 

Dean Pond Loop, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Upton State Forest 

Meet at the CCC Camp parking area (205 Westboro Road, Upton). This hike is ~3.5 miles over a loose gravel surface with steep inclines. 

Sunday, December 14 

East Douglas Station Hike, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Douglas State Forest

Meet at the Douglas SNETT lot (bit.ly/dougsnett). This hike is ~4 miles over a compacted gravel surface with mild inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site. 

Sunday, December 21

Uxbridge Greenway Hike, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Blackstone River Greenway

Meet at the Adams Street parking area (bit.ly/adamsgw). This hike is ~4 miles over a paved surface with mild inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site. 

Sunday, December 28

Franklin & Bellingham SNETT Hike, 1 – 3 p.m. 

Franklin State Forest

Meet at the Lake Street parking area (bit.ly/snettlake). This hike is ~4 miles over a compacted gravel surface with no inclines. Bathrooms are not available at this site.
