Pioneer Valley Mosquito Control District

We provide mosquito-borne disease surveillance in our member communities, including monitoring for West Nile virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis. Our program includes routine mosquito trapping and testing, targeted larval mitigation, and public education to help reduce the risk of virus transmission.

About us

Established pursuant to M.G.L. c. 252, the Pioneer Valley Mosquito Control District (PVMCD) provides mosquito control services to its member municipalities in Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties. The District is governed by a Board of Commissioners appointed by the State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board.
