Overview

Operators that transport natural gas are obligated to report certain incidents, defined in 49 CFR § 191.3, to the DPU.  The DPU reviews the incident report and investigates the cause and ensures that the operator properly addressed any safety issues.  Some incidents are not within the DPU’s jurisdiction.  The table below lists all incidents reported to the DPU.  Pursuant to St. 2014, c. 149, § 5, if the DPU did not investigate an incident, the reason is explained in the table below.  Full incident investigation reports are available here.
