Overview
The Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Coordinating Council (EVICC) is currently developing its Second Assessment, due to the state legislature by August 11, 2025. The Second Assessment will provide a detailed look at the current state of electric vehicle (EV) charging in Massachusetts, estimates of EV charging needs in 2030 and 2035 in accordance with the state’s climate goals, and strategic actions to achieve an equitable, interconnected, accessible, and reliable EV charging network in Massachusetts.
Draft Second Assessment
On June 25, 2025, EVICC released a draft of the Second Assessment for public comment. Feedback on the Second Assessment may be provided until July 11, 2025 by:
- Filling out the Second Assessment Feedback Survey
- Providing written comments via email, identifying your name and affiliation and addressing the survey questions
- Attending the July EVICC meeting
Public Hearings
To inform its development of the Second Assessment, EVICC held four public hearings across the Commonwealth, two of which were held in a hybrid format:
- March 27, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in New Bedford
- March 31, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Worcester
- April 3, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Holyoke (Hybrid)
- April 8, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in Boston (Hybrid)
