LBER will publish energy use for each large building in the Commonwealth, allowing stakeholders like potential buyers and lessees and local policy makers to better understand its performance.

DOER is aware that third party vendors have been sending misleading letters to people on the LBER Covered Buildings List. DOER is not affiliated with these entities. Their requests are not part of the Massachusetts LBER Program. Please see the how-to page for more information.

LBER Instructions for owners of large buildings  

LBER applies to all buildings in the Commonwealth over 20,000 square feet. If you received a letter saying that your building might require reporting, saw your building on the Covered Buildings List, or if your building is over 20,000 square feet and you want to know how to comply, start here.
