Health care facility licensure regulations

See the requirements, regulations, and Massachusetts General Laws for health care facility licensure.

State law requires the following health care facilities and programs to be licensed before they begin providing service.

However, the Department of Public Health does not license home health agencies. A home health agency may become certified to take part in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
