Overview   of Lawrence Court Service Center

Court Service Centers help people navigate the court system. Centers are available to all court users without lawyers and there are no income or immigration status requirements. All of the services in the Court Service Centers are free, but there may be other fees associated with your case, such as filing fees.

Hours   for Lawrence Court Service Center

In-person services

Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.; 2–4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.

Remote services (see Virtual Court Service Centers link above)

All Court Service Centers also provide remote services Monday–Friday. Connect with the Virtual Court Service Center for intake.

Parking   at Lawrence Court Service Center

There are two paid parking lots near the courthouse as well as one paid garage adjacent to the courthouse.

Public Transportation 

For public transportation information to the courthouse, visit the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority website or call (508) 588-1000.

The Lawrence District Court is accessible by the Haverhill line of the MBTA. The closest station to the courthouse is the Lawrence Station stop, which is approximately 1/2 of a mile from the courthouse. Busses are also available through the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority.

Services   at Lawrence Court Service Center

Court Service Centers can provide:

  • One-on-one help filling out forms in certain case types
  • Information about court rules, procedures, and practices
  • Court documents and written instructions (some offered in multiple languages)
  • Help in your preferred language
  • Contact information for community resources, legal assistance programs, and social service agencies
  • Computers with access to online resources that are available on a first-come, first served basis

Court Service Centers cannot:

  • Give legal advice or represent you in court
  • Help you if you have a lawyer
  • Help you with trial preparation or discovery
  • Tell you the status or predict the outcome of your case

Please note the following:

  • Hours of operation reflect the times when staff are working with court users.
  • In-person intake hours will close when capacity is reached; times vary daily based on volume and location.
