Facilities
Station B-4, SP Cheshire, founded in the mid-1920s, is tasked with patrolling the rural northwest corner of Massachusetts, offering police services to both residents and visitors of Northern Berkshire County. The station's patrol area, bordered by New York State to the west and Vermont to the north, includes 16 cities and towns, covering about 450 square miles. In eight of these towns, the State Police act as the principal law enforcement body. Additionally, Station B-4 monitors five state highways and oversees five state forests, among which is the Mt. Greylock State Reservation, the tallest peak in the state.
