Station B-3, SP Springfield, is located at 600 Liberty Street, accessible via Exit 3 on Interstate 291, right in the center of the Springfield Metropolitan Area. Its chief duty is to ensure the safety and security across 70 miles of the Interstate Highway System, encompassing I-91, I-291, and I-391. The station's jurisdiction includes 9 cities and large towns, among them the City of Springfield, which ranks as the third largest city in the Commonwealth. SP Springfield provides essential support to the local police departments of these municipalities whenever necessary. Additionally, the station offers policing services to the Westover Air Reserve Base and assists the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation by patrolling the Massachusetts State Park and Forest Systems.
