News 2018-2019 Substance Abuse Block Grant Plan Summary

The Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Substance Abuse Block Grant (SABG) program provides funds and technical assistance to all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, 6 Pacific jurisdictions, and 1 tribal entity. Each year, Massachusetts receives Block Grant funding to support the planning, implementation and evaluation of substance use disorder prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery oriented activities in the Commonwealth.

The 2018-2019 SABG Plan Summary (DOC) details the goals associated with the efforts that are funded under the SABG in Massachusetts. The public is invited to comment on the SABG Plan Summary. Please submit all comments or requests for information regarding the SABG Plan Summary to amy.sorensen-alawad@massmail.state.ma.us.

Bureau of Substance Addiction Services 

BSAS oversees the statewide system of prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support services for individuals, families, and communities affected by gambling and substance addiction.
