Blog Post  Sealing Eviction Records: Coming in May 2025

On August 6, 2024, Governor Healey signed the Affordable Homes Act, also called the Housing Bond Bill. Tenants will now be able to petition the courts to seal certain eviction records that can make it difficult for renters to secure housing (see Section 52 of the act).

The law goes into effect on May 5, 2025. 

Instructions will be posted by the Housing Court at a later date. Stay tuned for details.
