Telecommunications Services

Whether you need to file a complaint against a telephone provider or need help with Lifeline, we can help. If you’re interested in entering or exiting the market as a telecom provider or have questions about regulations and filings, then we can also help.

The Department oversees telecommunications providers in Massachusetts. We try to ensure that telecommunications companies provide their customers with reliable service at a reasonable cost. All local exchange carriers, interexchange carriers, operator service companies, competitive access providers, and payphone companies must register with us and make certain compliance filings.
