Our Career Services can help you find a job and achieve your professional goals.

Through our Career Services [previously known as Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)], you can find a job and work toward achieving your professional goals. Career Services are available to individuals age 14 and above, with moderate and/or severe disabilities.

General Services

What can Career Services do for me?

MassAbility Career Services/VR can help you find a job that fits your lifestyle needs. Services include:

  • Counseling and guidance 
  • Interest and aptitude testing
  • Diagnostic evaluations 
  • College or vocational training 
  • Job placement assistance 
  • Assistive technology 
  • School to work
  • Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) for youth
  • Employer consultation 
  • Communication access services (including ASL interpreters and multiple language translation)

NextGen Careers Program

MassAbility's NextGen Careers Program empowers young adults to enter the workforce on their own terms.  Whether you’re seeking career counseling, on-the-job training, or a professional certification program, NextGen Careers gives you the tools to achieve success.

Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)

Ready to explore your career interests? Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) can help you start. Open to students with disabilities between the ages of 14 and 21, Pre-ETS offers job exploration counseling, workplace readiness training, work-based learning experience, and more.

Ticket to Work Program

If you are looking for a job and receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) due to a disability or visual impairment, the Ticket to Work Program is here to help. Ticket to Work gives you the resources for finding a job so that you can improve your financial wellness.

Benefits Counseling

Discover the impact of employment or increased earnings on your benefits through our personalized counseling for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients with disabilities.

Services are available in select counties:

  • Essex
  • Barnstable
  • Bristol
  • Dukes
  • Nantucket
  • Norfolk
  • Plymouth
  • Suffolk

Residents in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Worcester counties can find benefits counseling at workwithoutlimits.org.

Youth Leadership Network (YLN)

Youth Leadership Network (YLN) is a state-wide initiative promoting self-advocacy and awareness for young people with disabilities. Run by Easterseals MA, YLN holds youth-based events and activities across the Commonwealth.
