Frequently Asked Questions about License Renewal

Expiration Dates:  Renewal dates will now be set for 2 years from your next birthday after Oct. 1, 2018 renewal

For example: when you renew your license that expires on Oct. 1, 2018, and your birthday is Dec. 1, your expiration date will be Dec. 1, 2020.

Continuing Education and Mass Health (LICSW ONLY) Requirements:

If you cannot attest that you have completed all the requisite Continuing Edu cation (CE) and you have not been approved for an extension, your license will not be renewed until you can demonstrate compliance.  If you proceed with your renewal, respond “NO” to the CE requirement, and make payment, your payment will be processed and your license will stay in “Attestation Review Status” and will not be renewed.  It will be updated once you have notified the board that all CE have been completed.

FOR LICSWs ONLY:  If you cannot attest that you submitted an application to be a Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) or a Non-Billing Provider to Mass Health your license will not be renewed until you can demonstrate compliance.  If you proceed with your renewal, respond “NO” to the Mass Health requirement, and make payment, your payment will be processed and your license will stay in “Attestation Review Status” and will not be renewed.  It will be updated once you have notified the board that the Mass Health requirement has been met.
