New Tax Law Changes for TY23
As we do every year, we are providing information on key personal income tax and corporate excise law changes. Some of those changes include the 4% surtax on taxable income over $1 million, the reinstatement of the charitable contribution deduction for personal income tax filers, and the disability hire tax credit. 2023 Personal Income and Corporate Excise Tax Law Changes is a good resource for information on the important changes.
Deadline ahead to submit your Entity Tax Status certification
Another reminder that April 1, 2024, is the deadline to electronically file the annual Certification of Entity Tax Status with DOR. DOR publishes the Corporations Book annually, which lists corporations or business entities taxable as corporations as of January 1. The book is used by municipal assessors to determine whether entities are eligible for local personal property tax exemptions as corporations.
