Legal Helpdesk

Virtual immigration legal consultations and assistance for individuals facing homelessness or impacted by the recent court decision regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

ORI-contracted legal service providers  staff a virtual  legal helpdesk to provide legal consultations for immigrants facing homelessness or for current or former TPS recipients or someone who had previously applied for TPS.  Eligible individuals can request an online appointment to speak with an attorney through the helpdesk intake process.

Services provided 

  • Virtual legal consultation with an immigration lawyer for families for eligible individuals
  • Potential limited immigration legal representation or assistance applying for immigration benefits 

Are you eligible? 

Individual needs to meet only one of the following criteria:

  • Current Emergency Assistance Family Shelter Resident; or
  • Left Emergency Assistance Family Shelter in the last 12 months; or
  • Current enrollment in the HomeBASE program; or
  • At risk of homelessness due to recent court decisions regarding Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
