MassHealth Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Program

IMPORTANT:
As of January 1, 2022, Tempus Unlimited is the ONLY Fiscal Intermediary (FI) for the MassHealth PCA program. The Northeast Arc and Stavros Fiscal Intermediary programs are now closed. All timesheets must be submitted to Tempus Unlimited.  Please only submit timesheets for hours already worked. Get more information at tempusunlimited.org/ma-transition.

Due to an extremely high volume of calls, wait times for Tempus Unlimited customer service are much longer than normal. To try and reduce call wait times Tempus Unlimited is asking that Consumers and PCAs refrain from calling to ask about the status of their FI transition paperwork. In the meantime, PCAs will continue to be paid, even if their transition paperwork has not been received.

The PCA Program is a MassHealth program that helps people with permanent or chronic disabilities keep their independence, stay in the community, and manage their own personal care by providing funds to hire personal care attendants (PCAs). The PCA consumer (the person receiving PCA services) is the employer of the PCA, and is fully responsible for recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, and, if necessary, firing PCAs.
