Massachusetts Bar Exam Update

February 2026 Bar Exam

The February 2026 Massachusetts Bar Exam will be held at the Menino Convention and Exhibition Center (MCEC) in Boston, MA and in Springfield, MA. 

There is limited standard seating in Springfield. Petitioners may request to sit in Springfield. Information on how to apply to sit in Springfield will be forthcoming.

Exam Dates: February 24-25, 2026

Filing Period: The filing period opens on Friday, October 17, 2025 and closes on Friday, December 5, 2025.

About the BBE

The Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners (BBE) is established by G.L. c. 221 §§35 & 36 to evaluate the qualifications of persons seeking admission to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Board of Bar Examiners reviews all petitions for admission to the Massachusetts bar submitted by eligible candidates to ensure that all persons admitted to the bar are fully qualified by education, knowledge, and character and fitness. See forms and general information relating to the admission process in Massachusetts - this list will provide various forms and information that will be helpful for navigating the admission process.
